Premium Hardwood Core

Layers of strength.

It takes five plys of true hardwood veneer to create a flooring surface this strong, this beautiful, this eco-efficient. Enhanced textures add a unique look across every plank, while a super-strong, aluminum oxide finish and ten-year finish warranty ensure durability that lasts and lasts. It's strength in layers.

Performance

Shaw Contract Group hardwood combines the performance necessary for today's commercial environments with the design leadership expected from the leading commercial flooring brand. Our 1/2" products feature premium hardwood veneers throughout, and an enhanced aluminum oxide finish for superior wear resistance. This construction, coupled with hand crafted design, means you no longer have to sacrifice aesthetics for performance.

Enhanced Exterior Finish
All flooring is finished with commercial grade aluminum oxide—second in strength only to diamonds—for superior wear and scratch resistance. This commercial finish gives Shaw Contract Group hardwood superior prevention to scuffs – up to 6 times better than other brands. We offer one of the best commercial hardwood guarantees around. Each plank is backed by a 10-year finish warranty and a lifetime structural warranty.

Premium Hardwood Core
The strength of the core has a great impact on performance. Shaw’s 5-ply Premium Hardwood Core is constructed of three true premium veneer layers, none softer than oak, which prevent warping while maximizing hardness and dent resistance. By using harder wood species to make up the core, our products are stronger and more dent resistant, giving any environment a better performing product. Each ply within the core is even in thickness for maximum stability and strength.

Environmental Attributes

Shaw Industries is the only hardwood manufacturer to offer Cradle to Cradle Certified products. Cradle to Cradle is an independent, multi-attribute product certification to tangibly and credibly assess product design that addresses safe and healthy materials; material reutilization and recycling; energy and water efficiency; and strategies for social responsibility. Cradle to Cradle Certified products contribute toward an Innovation in Design (ID 1.1) credit through the LEED rating system.

Shaw Contract Group achieves a greater yield per log than solid wood flooring manufacturers through an innovative veneer grading system and a revolutionary "BioMass Boiler." Shaw is able to use 100% of every log, and works primarily with domestic species grown within 500 miles of our mills.

Shaw is a vertically integrated manufacturer that controls every aspect of the production process – from manufacturing to shipping. This allows us to ensure that each piece of hardwood meets our highest quality standards. Each of Shaw's log suppliers adhere to best management practices for forestry, which take into account geography, the people, and animal habitats, among other issues.

Shaw supports forest sustainability practices and purchases wood only from managed forests. Our products are harvested domestically and Lacey Act compliant. The Lacey Act is stringent legislation designed to protect the harvest and importation of endangered plant species.

Locally harvested, and/or Forest Stewardship Council certified oak and hickory products are available via special order. Contact your Shaw Contract Group sales representative for more information.
