Enhanced Exterior Finish
All flooring is finished with commercial grade aluminum oxide—second in strength only to diamonds—for superior wear and scratch resistance. This commercial finish gives Shaw Contract Group hardwood superior prevention to scuffs – up to 6 times better than other brands. We offer one of the best commercial hardwood guarantees around. Each plank is backed by a 10-year finish warranty and a lifetime structural warranty.

Premium Core Materials
The stability and performance of any engineered hardwood product begins at the core. Shaw uses premium raw materials to create the densest, most stable construction available. EnviroCore densely compressed recycled wood fibers are fusion bonded in a non-directional construction, creating unsurpassed structural integrity. The result is a product that requires no onsite acclimation and experiences less seasonal expansion. All EnviroCore hardwoods consist of 50 percent recycled content.

Environmental Attributes

Shaw Contract Group is the only hardwood manufacturer to offer Cradle to Cradle Certified products. Cradle to Cradle is an independent, multi-attribute product certification to tangibly and credibly assess product design that addresses safe and healthy materials; material reutilization and recycling; energy and water efficiency; and strategies for social responsibility. Cradle to Cradle Certified products contribute toward an Innovation in Design (ID 1.1) credit through the LEED rating system.

By striving to use every part of the tree in the manufacturing process of our hardwood flooring, Shaw produces the most environmentally responsible engineered hardwood product available.

Shaw engineered hardwood with EnviroCore™ contains 50 percent preconsumer recycled content. This equates to 50 percent less newly-harvested wood in 3/8" planks than conventional 3/8” engineered wood flooring products. Our 3/8" products use two-thirds fewer trees: for every three trees used to make solid 3/8" hardwood, we can make the same amount from only one tree.

The dense inner EnviroCore layer is composed of wood fiber created in the manufacturing process of other products. Use of this wood waste prevents it from being burned or sent to landfills. EnviroCore has distinct advantages over plywood core alternatives, such as unsurpassed structural integrity, impact resistance and superior moisture tolerance.

Shaw supports sustainable forestry practices and purchases wood only from managed forests. Our products are harvested domestically and are Lacey Act compliant. The Amendment to the Lacey Act is stringent legislation enacted to protect the harvest and importation of endangered plant species.
