What is Design?
Design is a collaborative process that has the potential to provide strategic results through the creative invention of space and perceived experience. As a global full-service marketing and athlete representation agency, this client serves some of the most recognizable individuals and brands in the world of sports and entertainment.
How is Design best illustrated through the project?
The design team created a plan that is zoned into private and shared/public spaces, providing an appropriate level of privacy where required. A variety of styles for meeting spaces is integrated into the plan and provide forum for creative teamwork and collaboration. Glass-fronted offices located at the interior of the space give an equitable, well-ordered, open and light-filled quality to the space.
A palette of materials, finishes, colors and furnishings was created that is environmentally responsible, inviting, warm and demonstrative of the care, commitment and level of personal service provided to the firm’s clientele every day. Concurrently, the team captured a sense of energy and playfulness utilizing exposed ceiling details, lighting fixtures and branding elements.
Biggest Design Challenge?
The client required a space that would function as a sales tool would be demonstrative of their commitment to the environment, would capture their brand, tell their story and provide an experience that was as innovative and bold as the people they represent.
The design team was able to realize the vision of workplace as a sales tool with tangible results. As the elevator door opens, a sales path begins and a visual story of the organization unfolds as visitors and potential clients circulate through the space. Collected sports memorabilia and graphic displays contribute to the identity of the space as well as provide background for the telling of the firm’s mission, vision, values, history, clients, services and anecdotal stories and myths.
What made it Innovative or Unique?
The client required a space that would reinforce to all employees their individual value as essential contributors to the organization. The design team led the client’s staff through a series of envisioning, focus group and change management processes that aligned the expectations of the organization and the project. Employees were engaged as valuable contributors throughout the process which resulted in an employee focused work place in sync with the firm’s vision and values.
How did Design make a difference?
The client has reported evidence of success on many fronts as they have occupied their new spaces:
The process, as well as the varied elements of the design, convey the belief that focusing on a quality employee environment enhances the firm’s ability to provide superior client care.
The design has served as an agent of change; inspiring a cultural shift to more collaborative team work throughout the organization.
The experience provided by this workplace is viable as a tool for selling services. The buzz is evident to touring clients, as well as staff, underscoring the dynamic energy of the business and the enthusiasm of the people that make it happen.
